Dear all,

We have an interesting set of presentations for the Equalizer BOF next
week. In particular, integration with OpenSceneGraph is a hot topic
these days, with one presentation and a strong interest in discussions
about it.

Please have a look at the full agenda below.

I hope to see you all in a week,

Stefan.

We will be holding an Equalizer Birds-Of-a-Feather meeting during
Eurographics'09 - mark your calendars:

Place: Eurographics 2009, TU Munich
Date: Tuesday, March 31, 15:00-16:30
Room: MI 02.13.010

Co-located with EG is the Eurographics Symposium on Parallel Graphics
and Visualization, so there is yet another good reason to come to
Munich!

Schedule

15:00-15:20 Equalizer: Past, Present and Future, Stefan Eilemann,
Eyescale Software GmbH
15:20-15:40 Virtual Architecture with Equalizer and OpenSceneGraph,
Julia Sigmund, University of Siegen
15:40-16:00 Performance Optimizations for Image Compositing, Renato
Pajarola, University of Zurich
16:00-16:30 Questions and Answers, Open Discussion
Equalizer: Past, Present and Future

In this presentation we will provide an overview of the roots, current
state and future work on the Equalizer parallel rendering framework.
Hot new features, e.g., dynamic frame resolution and the layout API
will receive special attention.

Virtual Architecture with Equalizer and OpenSceneGraph

In the context of a project work for virtual architecture we combined
Equalizer and OpenSceneGraph. Special consideration was given to the
flexibility of the parallel rendering capabilities. The presentation
reviews the synthesis of Equalizer and OpenSceneGraph for our virtual
reality environment.

Performance Optimizations for Image Compositing

We will briefly review the current performance bottlenecks in
Equalizer and provide some preliminary information on our research to
eliminate the major issues.

Q&A, Open Discussion

A relaxed get-together for current and future Equalizer developers. We
encourage an open exchange of ideas, current and futures usage around
Equalizer and other parallel rendering software. Getting to know each
other and finding synergies between different parallel rendering
applications is the other objective for this meeting.
